HI FAMILY,

Well this week was full of some surprises. Well I changed areas... I didn't get changed from my asignment I am still the financial secretary I just got moved to a different ward. The funniest greatest part is where I got moved and who my companion is. I was moved to Covida which is like 4-5 minutes away from Palmeras. The best part is who my companion is. He isn't a latino, he is from Utah, he is a good friend already, and he is just a super great guy in general. His name is Elder Wells. How funny is that. Now there are going to be two gringos together in the middle of a huge southern american city. It is super weird because we can talk english or spanish and we both understand it as well. It has already been super fun talking and getitng to know each other even better. I have been around Elder Wells for like a year just chasing him from zone to zone and know we are companions.

Well I am excited for this transfer. I am a little sad that President split me and Elder Cuenca up but I think that it will help the offices to have the unity and the blessings that we need. I know that this is going to help me to work even harder.

Well there isn't a whole lot more time to write, but everything is good. I am still getting to know my area and still getting to know the members and everything as well, so I will let you know a little bit more next week. Well I hope that this gave you a little bit more ideas about what is happening with me and how we are working down here in Peru. Love you guys so much!!!!!

Cuidense mucho,
Elder Hyde

Hello my wonderful family,

Well this week has been a pretty good week for me. It was a good week for spirituality and a good time to recharge my spiritual batteries as well. This week we were able to go to the temple and we were able to take some pretty fun pictures and we were able to grow closer as a Zone. We are a fun Group we are able to have our fun and still get a lot of the work done that we need to get done. We also got to go and listen to conference and learn about all the new changes and the crazy things that are going to be put in play. It is crazy to think that some of the things that have been around for so long can disappear in just one day, but that is how revelation works. This week we were able to work harder with some of our investigators to try and to help them to receive the revelation that they need but it was hard for a lot of them to come because it was a holiday for them and most of them had left. But we are still working hard to try and bring them closer together as families. This conference was a pretty special one though because the Gringos watched it with President Stauffer in his office. We were able to talk a little about all the changes and about all of the fun things that are going to be happening, and learn from him as welll. It was definitely inspired and it is something that I am not going to forget very easy. I know that if we put in place this promise that president Nelson gave us that we will be blessed but that we need to be diligent and we need to follow with exact obedience. One of the things that will help us all is studying the conference talks until the next conference. It will help alll of us to receive all that we need and guide our families where they need to go. I hope that you can all put them in practice and do the things that he wishes of you. I love you guys and hope that we can be faithful, obedient, and diligent in the things he has given us. Keep up the good work.

Benavente Baptism

Well we finally got the Benavente Family to take a leap of faith and get baptized. They are making a lot of progress and they are so happy that they have taken the decision. I still feel a little incomplete with them because only one  of her three children were baptized Giordano. Her other kids are older so she doesn't have as much influence over them but I am sure that they will understand a little later on in life. It was a good experience over all. So happy that we could have that experience.

Hello family,

Well everything is going good down here. A pretty fairly normal week for me and for being in the offices. I had to do a little bit of running around and working on everything that we have to do but i feel like we are making it work. This week we were trying to do some new things so that we could enjoy the misison even more and one of the things we thought that we would do is make shakes and smoothies and all sorts of things with some fruit that we were going to buy. We bought everything up to the room for shakes and smoothies for two or three days and we go to try the blender and it doesn't work, then we tried the other two blenders and they also didn't work. We then tried to mash up the fruit yogurt ice cream and make our own shakes but it didn't turn out super well. It kind of destroyed our creativity for a little bit so we need some more ideas to try and make it even funner.

(yes i just used the word funner)

Well I hope that everything goes well. I love you all so much

See you later,
Elder Hyde

Hello my amazing family,

Well everything is going quite well here in southern america. It is still pretty hot down here and I am feeling all of humidity. I feel like I am always just showering and bathing in every minute of the day. I am so glad that I am in a place that has air conditioning and lots of cold water. I am so blessed. Well as for this week there was a lot of good things that happened we were able to get a lot more done in my area because there were three missionaries who were going home. Elder Vaca, Elder Cama, and Elder Sanabria..... Wait what my dad "trainer" is going home. That was a crazy experience, now I feel really old in the mission, I was able to say goodbye to elder Sanabria yesterday and we sent him off, but he came back. Apparently there were some complications with his papers and he wasn't registered. So we got to spend another day with him here in the offices. So that was a pretty fun experience. We also had the great opportunity to baptize Sister Evelyn Gomez this week. We have been working so hard with her so that she would come to church and participate in all of the fun things that the church has to offer. We were running around all day and I told my companion to watch the fount as it was filling up so that I could run to go get some papers and I came back and went up stairs and he said that he just received revelation and then he ran out the door. I followed him until we got downstairs where the fount had overfilled and was in the hallway. So with 30 min before the baptism we grabbed the mops and started mopping away. Everything turned out good and we were able to have a good experience even though I was a little frustrated that it had happened. But you live and you learn. I will try to be a little bit more specific next week but this is my fun for this week. I love you guys so much.

Trip to Lima

Hi my wonderful Family,

Well this week was crazy!!!! We are writing today because of all the craziness that happened yesterday. We got invited by President Stauffer to go to his house in Central Lima. We took the chance that we had and headed over there at 9 am. We all took a taxi that definitely only had room for 4 people and we are 6. We shoved ourselves in the car and got all ready to go over there. We were definitely enjoying the time until me and Elder Garcia got car sick and my Leg was all messed up another long story but then with Elder Medeiros on top of it for an hour and a half it was hurting really bad! We finally were getting close and Elder Garcia was sitting in his seat and he just says to us if I open my eyes I am going to throw up. We told him that we were only about 3 minutes away, we were a little more than 15 minutes. We kept driving for another 11 minutes and then he says can we get off of this car and I wasnt feeling it either we asked the Taxi driver to pull over and leave us in a big market so that we could get a breath. When we got off we had no idea where we were or not even really how to get there but President told us that he lived in front of a Catholic Church. We went to the nearest cross we could see in the air, and with luck it was the chapel in front of his house. The Lord blesses us so much, I still dont know why! Then we had a little breakfast with President where we ate bacon, waffles, fruit, and a breakfast casserole as well. I was so happy to have a real breakfast and not just bread. Then after breakfast we had a little meeting with President and Sister Stauffer talkking about everything that was going on and about the things that we could do better in order to keep running smoothly!!! Then after all the work President said well you guys are free to do what you want here. Only the pool is off limits. So we played ping pong, board games, and a little nap in as well. We had a good time just being able to hang out with President and get to know him better. Then at the end of that time it was getting time to write you guys but we were still at Presidents and he said that we could write you guys and tell you that we were going to write today. I am not kidding when I say that I have the worst of luck. As I was typing my username into my account to write you guys I get a call that I have to answer, I take the call and tried to type in my password at the same time and the three times that I tried I messed up becuase I was unfocused. I finally got done with him and then type in my password right and start an email going to you guys and as I am typing it up the computer dies and I dont get time to tell you guys. If he hadnt called right then I could of sent a message. What luck!!! Then after that we got invited to go to Burger King and to an Ice cream store that was amazing so that we could spend just a little more time with President. By the way Burger King is way better here than in the United States. Then we went home and didn't get here until late for a p-day. It was interesting, I felt really out of place for a day. Still recovering today. Sorry my time is up but I will write more next week. I love you guys so mcuh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
