Welcome to the Office Elder Garcia

Hello my wonderful family,

Everything is still going good. I feel like I am improving in a lot of things, but many of those things are not exactly what I thought that I was going to improve. I am trying to take advantage of everything that comes my way though. I have bettered my computer skills a lot, I have relearned all of the keyboard shortcuts and a little bit of math as well. I am also learning how to handle money and work with business people and doctors as well.

This week was also a little different but also fun because we were able to replace Elder Mansilla, and it just so happened to my good friend ELDER GARCIA! We are doing lots of fun things now we are stoked because we are going to be able to see each other each day and hang out with one another a little more than before. That was a great switch-up in the offices. We are all super happy and we are all just working like donkeys to get everything done that we can. That was the biggest news here in the offices.

Well I am so happy to hear about all the fun things that have happened in your guy's life and hope that you can keep running with the things that are happening in your life. I hope that we can all take a step back and look at all of the many blessings that God has given us and that we can be a little more appreciative. I am sorry that I don't have all that much time to write you all everything that I would like to, but I hope that you all can still feel that I love you and appreciate each and everyone of you. I hope you all have a fantastic week and that you all enjoy this week. Good luck with all the school graduations, parties, and sports that are going on! Keep working hard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

joke in the scriptures?

Hola Familia,

Well I am sorry, I didn't plan out my time super well this week and am still missing my adapter to be able to put photos on the email. I have to use Elder Wells adapter but the internet is always a little slow.

I just wanted to tell you guys that I love you and that I appreciate everything that you guys do for me and for our great family. I am so thankful for the examples and lessons that you all have taught me. I hope you all know that you have had a great part in shaping the man that I am. I know that you guys are exactly who I needed in my life so that I could be able to get to where I am now. I am so thankful to have such a strong close family and that we can still have this great communication. I hope that we can always have it.

Well this week was good it was very busy and stressful especially with transfers this week. We are all wondering a little bit about what is going to happen. Elder Mansilla left so we don't have an assistant to president and we don't know who it is going to be. We are all hoping that is someone who is capable of leading the mission to better, bigger things. We are expecting great things in the mission and we are ready and willing to follow whatever t the Lord will put in front of us.

This was a fun week. It was good to be able to see a lot of the family on the Mother's day Skype, I wish I could have had the time to visit and talk with each and everyone of you but there just isn't enough time to be able to tell you guys everything. But know that I love you and that I pray for your success and your experiences. I hope that life is treating you all well and that you can keep progressing and becoming the people that God needs in these days.

To finish I wanted to leave you with a funny scripture reference that is a little bit of a joke. How do we know Amulek wasn't a good cook?

the answer  is found in Alma 8:20-22

It talks about what amulek did for Alma.

(Hint: Look for what he did or didn't eat)

I love you guys so much and hope that you have an outstanding week. Keep moving forward and pressing forward with a steadfastness in Christ feasting upon the words of God!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mother's day missionary gifts

in honor of Mother's day, Garrett's mission president posted pictures of the missionaries on
Instagram.      This is a picture he posted of Elder Hyde's zone
After church today, we had the privilege of skyping with Garrett.  it was so fun to visit with him.  He offered a prayer in Spanish.   Shared a cool mission experience with us about the conversion and baptism of the Benavente family(in particular the mom, Susana) (SEE POST ON 3/19/2018).   He answered all of our questions  and clarified pronunciations of area and companion names.   He asked mom to end our call with a prayer. right on time.   so obedient to the rules :)

Isn't technology the GREATEST?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello,

Well this week was a good and hard week for us. This week was Zone conference week, we got to have our experience and teaching lesson from President and Hermana Stauffer. It was super good and we learned a ton. It was cool because we talked about all of the things that we have learned form them in these times and about all the things that we want to do different. It was a good experience.

Sadly this week Marco was not able to get baptized he was a little too deep with his friends. They were doing some bad things, thankfully him without knowing it, but he was still associated with them and the things that they were doing. Sadly it sounded like they were all going to get arrested and was going to have a big problem so he needed to go up north to avoid a lot of suspition and his friends trying to pull or drag him into it too. We are still in good communication with him and we might be able to see him a little later on and finish the job, it just depends on the papers and what all happens.

Other than that me and Elder Wells are working really hard and we are doing all that we possibly can to help the mission and to bless the lives of those that we encounter. We have difficulty leaving the offices sometimes and we are sometimes a little frustrated with the other missionaries and their various problems but we are working it out little by little and getting way better at helping people solve their own problems.

Anyways I tried to send a lot more pictures so that you guys can see a little bit about what is happening and everything that we are doing. One of those pictures was of the P-day that I had to plan, we made a fruit salad with a yogurt like danimals, and fajitas that were super tasty as well. And then a couple of the birthdays for this month. And then me and Elder Wells drew pictures of Elder Jardine and Elder Mansillla on our mangos so that was pretty funny too.

Well that is it from me. Have a swell week and enjoy everything that comes your way. Love you so much!!!!!!!

To my favorite family,

Well this week has been a really good week for me and Elder Wells. We are doing all sorts of fun things running around from place to place all the time, sharing all sorts of stories and opinions. He is a really fantastic guy, I love him to death. This week was a little bit harder for me because I didn’t get to spend a whole bunch of time in my area, I had to do lots of baptism interviews and help the missionaries with all their fun problems. You would be surprised at how many people lose money here, just this past week I had two cases of 100 soles being lost. I had to be the bad guy and tell them that they can’t reimburse all of it, that they would only receive a portion of that money, like dad has always told me ‘’Life’s not fair Princess’’. Thank you dad for your many inspiring words, I will forever be grateful for your sincerity and the simple lessons that you taught.

This week we were trying some more new things Elder Wells showed us a game called Risk that is pretty fun. I had never played before, it is a game where you try and conquer the world. You have soldiers and tanks and stuff like that and then little by little you grow your army and then tkae other peoples countries. Elder Wells before the game said that this game has been known to break friendships. He didn't lie. The only thing was that I was the one breaking the friendships, I ended up winning the very first time that I played. We also played Monopoly today, and me and elder Wells beat everyone today. So just you guys wait till I get home, I will still smoke you guys in all the games. Elder Hyde has gotten even less friendly in games he is out to win and nothing else. Just kidding... kind of.

Me and Elder Wells weren't able to work very much together this week. We were doing all that we could to get out of the offices and find more people to teach. But it was a lot harder for us I was running around helping the assistants in all that they had to do, I had to interview a couple of people this week, and then on top of that President Stauffer was super busy with interviews as well so we were trying to make sure that everything was taken care of here.

I was reading the other day about Nephi (the son of helaman) in Helaman 6 and the verse 36 caught my attention. It explains about how the spirit works within us, it says the Lord is able to pour out his spirit upon those who are willing to believe in his words and the easiness that it is transferred to them. This then led me to wonder, “What makes it easier or me more willing to believe in Christ?” I think that the easy answer is when he blesses me or when I feel his love, but I want to have firm faith not something that wavers becuase I know that the flesh is weak. So I was wondering what can I do to have a firm faith that can get to be unshaken and something that won't fail on me. One of those that came to mind is in 2 Nephi 31:20 that we always have to feast upon the words of Christ. Then another scripture came to mind that is found in Jacob 4:6 that says that we study the prophets and obtain many revelations. Which also helped me to remember the promise that was given in general conference saying that we need to study the conference talks before the next general conference and make sure that we are preparing ourselves becuase we are entering a time where it will be really hard, or almost impossible to receive revelation if we are not following strong on the path of righteousness. We need to have the Spirit with us in all times, or we won't survive spiritually. I hope that you guys can take the challenge again and that you can stay strong on this path. I love you guys so much and hope that you all can continue firm and strong in whatever you put your minds too I love you guys so much!!!!!!!!
